Reflect On Gender Euphoria
Gender euphoria is a strong feeling that can bring a lot of happiness, comfort, joy, and peace with your gender identity. It happens when your gender identity is recognized and supported, and you feel fully affirmed in your gender identity.
When we think about accessing gender euphoria as a coping strategy, it is important to identify your unique thoughts or actions that celebrate and affirm your gender identity. Once we know what those things are, we can use them on purpose when your gender dysphoria shows up.
One great way to do this is by writing in a journal. When we write down the good things that happen to us or the times when we feel proud of who we are, we can read those entries later when we need a pick-me-up. It’s a way to remind ourselves that we’re on a journey to accepting and being happy with ourselves.
