By using Trans Care’s website (trans-care.org) and its services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website.
1. Description of Services Trans Care provides educational resources and mental health support tools for transgender and nonbinary individuals. The resources are designed to foster resilience, mental well-being, and gender euphoria. By signing up, users gain access to free, self-guided courses, and may receive text message reminders for lesson completion (for users aged 13-17).
2. Eligibility You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are under 18 years old and choose to participate in any research activities offered through the Services, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By participating in research activities, you represent and warrant that you have obtained any required parental or legal guardian consent.
3. Registration Information To use our services, you will need to register with the following required information:
- Email address (required)
- Age (required, to determine which path you will take on the site)
You may also choose to provide additional optional information: Pronouns, Gender identity, Sexuality, Race, and Research Study ID (if applicable). For users aged 13-17, you may also provide your phone number if you choose to receive text message reminders about lessons.
4. User Responsibilities As a user, you agree to provide accurate information and use the Services responsibly and lawfully. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit our educational materials for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
5. Privacy Your use of our services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
6. Text Message Service For users aged 13-17, Trans Care offers a text message reminder service. By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive automated text messages regarding lesson availability, completion reminders, and supportive updates.
- Consent: Consent is not a condition of purchase or service.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies based on user progress.
- Rates: Message and data rates may apply.
- Help/Stop: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For support, reply HELP or use our contact form.
- Liability: Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Links to Third-Party Websites Our website contains links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites.
8. Termination of Service We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service.
9. Limitation of Liability While we strive to provide accurate and helpful resources, we cannot guarantee that the information or services on our website will meet all your needs or expectations. Trans Care is not responsible for any damages, losses, or negative outcomes resulting from your use of our resources. As noted in Section 6, Trans Care and Mobile Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered SMS messages.

11. Governing Law These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
